Joshua J. Martell, referred to by most as Josh, was born in Niagra Falls, New York. At the age of 13, his family moved to Venice, Florida where he graduated from Venice High School then relocated to Orlando to attend the University of Central Florida (UCF).
While in high school, Josh was a member of the drama club and enjoyed acting. One of his most memorable accomplishments as an actor was when he had the privilege to perform a scene from the Diary of a Young Girl, Anne Frank in front of a person within the audience who was Anne's best friend before Anne's death in a German concentration camp during World War II. For his acting performance, Josh won an acting award. Following his performance he was introduced and spoke to Anne's best friend, Jacqueline Van Maarsen, a moment he will remember as one of his most vivid and memorable childhood experiences.
Among his father, mother and 5 brothers and sisters, Josh is the first to attain a professional degree. After high school Josh entered the University of Central Florida. Because he aspired to become an attorney, he chose history as his major. While attending UCF, Josh met Katie in his ministry group and in his junior year they were married. In order to pay the way, Josh worked as a server in restaurant, having started out as a dishwasher, then becoming a cook and finally a server.
After completing his degree at UCF, Josh became a real estate associate for about 3 years then a sales associate for a moving company. During this time in life, Josh realized it was time to pursue his goal of becoming a lawyer. Josh was accepted into Florida A&M University (FAMU) where he graduated with his Juris Doctorate.
Along life's path Josh and Katie had 3 children, 2 girls and a boy. They have learned that life is a balancing act between business and family but they do it with the greatest enjoyment. As to his working life, Josh wants to be remembered as a lawyer who is best known for projecting the greater good for all of those he represents. As for his family life, Josh wants to leave them with a legacy of a good husband and dad of whom they will always be proud.
