Serina Patel, born and raised in Winter Garden, is a driven and ambitious young woman whose journey reflects a dedication to growth, exploration, and excellence. Currently a student at the University of Central Florida, Serina is majoring in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, a field she is passionate about as she aspires to become a future leader in human resources.
Serina’s educational journey began at Windermere High School, where she laid the foundation for her academic achievements. She continued her studies at Valencia College, earning her Associate of Arts degree before transitioning to UCF to pursue her bachelor’s degree.
In July 2023, Serina joined Jackson Law PA as an intern paralegal, where she works closely with Taylor Engberg, a law graduate and legal assistant to the firm’s founder and owner, Kristen Jackson. Serina plays a key role in preparing essential estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and probate, showcasing her meticulous attention to detail and commitment to clients. Her responsibilities also extend to scheduling, client introductions, and ensuring that each interaction with the firm’s attorneys is welcoming and professional.
Before joining Jackson Law, Serina honed her skills and gained valuable experience as a legal assistant at the Aust Law Firm and as an assistant manager at her father’s family business, the Grand Oaks Mail Center. John and Kristen Jackson have known her father, Yanesh "Yogi" Patel, for over two decades. While the Jacksons did not know Serina before she turned eighteen, their paths crossed serendipitously when John, who maintained a mailbox for his construction company at the Patel family’s business, met Serina during one of his visits.
A chance conversation about John’s global travel sparked an instant connection, with Serina lighting up at the prospect of one day becoming a world traveler herself. This moment left an impression on John, who saw her potential and extended an offer to join Jackson Law, provided she embraced one essential rule: to have fun while working at the firm. Serina accepted, and since that pivotal meeting, she has indeed embraced the world, traveling to Europe and India, where she connected with relatives and explored her family’s rich Indian heritage.
Serina’s visits to India deepened her appreciation for her cultural roots, allowing her to experience the traditions and histories of her ancestors. These trips also reinforced her passion for global exploration and connection, traits she brings to every endeavor she undertakes.
Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Serina is a budding real estate investor, owning property in Tampa, Florida. Her ability to balance multiple responsibilities with grace and determination is a testament to her work ethic and drive.
While her current focus remains on building a career in human resources, John and Kristen are confident that Serina’s time at Jackson Law may one day inspire her to pursue a career in law—just as they have successfully influenced others before her. Serina’s path is marked by ambition, curiosity, and a zest for life, and those who know her eagerly anticipate her continued success.
